Proud but humble

In the gym (also called cultural hall) at church there was an open house for several of the graduating LDS seniors in Monot, ND. These are pictures of Tanis's display table. He wanted to mainly highlight the 3 major elements of his life right now. He has spent all of his life attending church and is worthy to serve a mission. The sword we gave him was definitely a hit among the other young men at the open house.

 For many of the past several years, Tanis has been active in the Junior ROTC. He was offered more than one scholarship but the best one, valued at $180,000, was from the ROTC. He plans to use it to attend BYU for 4 years then go to medical school. It will be a long haul but he has proven himself capable of working hard and achieving his goals. (Note the heavy array of medals he has received!) He also displayed his Scout uniform since he has worked hard for many years going up through the ranks and acquiring many medals in Scouts, too.

 Being the first born grandson on both sides of the family has its benefits. Tanis was able to enjoy the presence and praise from all 4 of his grandparents (this is Ruth Orme and me helping with decorations for the open house) as well as his Aunt Michelle Orme for the whole weekend.
