The house

Part of our exercise program while visiting Berlin can be seen in the photo below. The house doesn't have an overly large "footprint" but it contains 4 floors, including the "basement" which anyone would find nearly as nice as a lot of people's homes. The laundry is in the basement and we slept on the 3rd floor above the main floor so when I was doing laundry, it was quite a climb to go put it away. Here in Dayton, we have the same number of floors. You would think I'd be used to it!The basement has a laundry room with a washer, dryer, large table for folding clothes, and a utility sink, a room filled with shelves for storage, and a utility room. There was another room with Susanne's treadmill and a place for the kids to play very actively! When you enter the front door of the house on the main floor, the foyer has cupboards for storage and a small bathroom. To your left would be the large eat-in kitchen. Straight ahead would be the hallway with the stairway then on into the spacious living room/dining room area. They also have their computer desk there.
On the second floor is the master suite (bedroom and bath), hall cupboards, a room they use for the television, a large bathroom, and Louisa's bedroom photos of which are below:

Susanne says this is not common in European homes that it was built especially for Americans and all the stuff they need room for. Nearly every room has this incredible wall of storage!
