The Sunday after the wedding, we decided to make it a little easier on the younger kids and have "church" at home. The kids were glad to have some quiet time with Grandma and Grandpa. The lesson topic was serving with love. Grandpa introduced the subject by explaining what a "service station" was, rather than a gas station. He showed an old picture of his father's Mobil station where he started working as a teenager.
Most of the kids were content to be in casual clothes but Kadon was quite enthralled with his "tuxedo" that he wore for the wedding and felt it was more appropriate attire for a church meeting, even if it was only in Grandma and Grandpa's third floor room. This is him demonstrating "service" by pouring his Aunt Lisa a cup of water. (We went for small portions for the kids to practice pouring to avoid any major mishaps and we used just water.)
After the lesson and practicing serving, we colored pictures of people serving other people. The kids all learned a little, had a quiet, peaceful Sabbath, and enjoyed being with their cousins.
