We don't go sightseeing every day, fortunately. It's lovely and enlightening but tiring to go here and there all the time- expensive, too. (James is wonderfully generous!) We have been to two movies here at the huge theater that shows movies in English: Cars2 and the last Harry Potter movie. Above we are doing our family home evening activity which was Beatles Rock Band and Band Heroes. We had fun. I am posting the two pictures below mostly for my other grandsons. They are all really into Legos and are very creative. I thought they could see what Nicholas came up with- a rubber band gun. When he first made it, it was the size of a pistol. But he kept working on it. Every day it got a little large and more lethal. It has a trigger mechanism and storage for additional "ammunition". Quite clever!
Russ was doing weeding outside and got the camera to take a photo of me cleaning windows.
It has rained more days than not since being here, although it was gorgeous in Italy the week we were there. We tried to make the best use of a day or two of sunshine. We also prepared for a lovely barbeque dinner hosting the Americans that work with James in the embassy with their families. Susanne did her usual incredible job making food: homemade rolls, tabouli, a corn and bean salsa type salad, an unusual fruit salad of blueberries and currants and wild peaches, a lovely green salad with feta and glazed walnuts, barbequed turkey kabobs and chicken breasts, and cupcakes for dessert- chocolate with chocolate frosting and yummy lime cupcakes with mango frosting. We had very little leftover!
