Going to the zoo

We went to the zoo and brought our own herd! The day was lovely, no rain and warm enough to be comfortable but not too hot. The kids were all well-behaved. The Cincinnati Zoo is a pretty good zoo. It's a little hard to find because it's in a very residential area, surrounded by houses and trees and on a hillside.







One of the highlights of this particular zoo is the lorikeet cage. I'm not sure I'm spelling that correctly but it's a cage full of brightly colored birds that, for a nominal fee, you can feed with provided cups of nectar and sticks with seeds attached. Here is Jeremy offering seeds to a couple of pretty birds. Tanis, Angela, and James are in the background.















Here a couple of John and Janice's kids, Janelle, Janna, and Jarin, are enjoying the attention of a green parakeet relative.
Grandpa and Louisa are watching a bird tear up the cup from some nectar as well as feeding some seeds to another bird. There were plenty to go around!
After the zoo, we all went to Victoria's to barbeque some chicken she had been marinating. It was wonderful! We managed to crowd into her apartment and enjoy quite a feast before each of us headed home. Grandpa and I drove Tanis home to change then to his church so he could ride to Columbus to do temple work. We are so proud of our family. They are really good people. They are helpful, honest, and, for the most part, hard-working. We especially love that we can be together in large groups and still get along well. The kids all watch out for each other and try not to leave anyone out.
